Cahaba Heights UMC and Water282 - Providing Clean Water for Africa
Water282 is tackling the world's leading health problem one well at a time, by connecting a local organization to an African village in extreme poverty to supply clean, safe drinking water. Cahaba Heights UMC is teaming up with Water282 to provide a clean water source for Sipala Village, located in the Southern Province of Zambia, Africa.
Sipala Village is near Choma, Zambia, and has a population of 270+. Their water source is a hand-dug water hole or stream (up to 4km away).
In October 2012 Cahaba Heights exceeded our target of $7000 to fund establishing and maintaining the well in Sipala village. See photo of work on the project below.
